Empezó la temporada de premios con las nominaciones a los más importantes galardones de la industria del entretenimiento en Estados Unidos, y eso incluye a uno de mis favoritos: los premios SAG, entregados por el Screen Actors Guild.

El Screen Actors Guild es como decir el "Sindicato de Actores de la Pantalla". Todos los premios dados son de actuación, y lo entregan los mismos actores a sus colegas. En cuanto a rating y a "show" es quizás la entrega de premios de más bajo perfil, pero quizás por eso mismo es tan fantástica ante mis ojos.

Este año, me emocioné a ver entre los nominados a un par de actores que, ante mis ojos, son esencialmente actores de teatro: Mark Rylance y Bryan D'Arcy James. Al primero lo conocí con un soliloquio de 25 minutos en "La Bete" e interpretando fantásticamente a una mujer en "Twelfth Night", y al segundo he tenido oportunidad de verlo en "Shrek" y "Something Rotten". Me dije "¡Broadway power para la pantalla!". 

Sin embargo después de indagar un poco más en la lista, me di cuenta de que no eran los únicos actores de Broadway siendo reconocidos este año por su trabajo en la pantalla chica y grande. Es usual que los actores más conocidos sean aquellos en medios de mayor alcance como el cine y la televisión, pero ¿cuántos de estos actores han estado en Broadway?

Decidí hacer una investigación detallada al respecto con TODOS los nominados de este año -bien individualmente o por ensamble- y los resultados me sorprendieron. Bien por ser actores de teatro cuyo trabajo se trasladó a la pantalla; o actores de cine y TV cuyo trabajo se ha trasladado a Broadway, aunque yo esperaba encontrar como 15 o 20 actores encontré a más de 50 nominados con experiencia teatral en Nueva York (citando a LaFayette en "Hamilton": WOW!)...  Me dije: ¡por eso es que están nominados!

A continuación, comparto con Uds. mis resultados. Listo sólo la experiencia actoral en teatro (algunos de los nominados ha estado en Broadway como Director y/o Productor. Esos créditos no se incluyen).
